Private celebration of life services will be held.
Born November 9, 1960 to parents Wendy Holden and Ronald Fillmer in East Moline, Illinois, Shannon made a living as a paralegal for the attorney general in Mississippi. She truly had an extremely deep-loving heart, and Shannon was led to run a women and children's shelter in Pearl to support those in Rankin County seeking safety, seemingly living her life by the motto, "If I have it, I will give it; what's mine is yours". A advocate for all parties vulnerable to abuse, she had a soft spot for kids and animals and also worked in various nursing homes where Shannon became close to countless residents and shared a special connection with many people there. She was a hard worker all of her life. Never giving up, some would describe her as a "soldier" the way that Shannon embodied strength exteriorialy, but always in the name of spreading kindness. She treated everyone equal, held no grudges, and had no hesitation in her love.
Shannon deeply rooted her life in faithfulness and was very passionate in caring for others. Her own family saw this first-hand in how she adored her husband, Ricky, and their family. Always concerned with their happiness, Shannon often said how her greatest pleasure in life was hearing the sound of her children's laughter. In addition, she loved to cook and delighted in family meals.
Preceding her in death are her father, Ronald Fillmer, Sr who returned to Heaven when Shannon was a child; "Papa Lane" Russell, Sr, who God brought to Shannon's mother, Wendy, after Mr. Fillmer's tragic passing; and Shannon's beloved husband of 42 years, Ricky.
Shannon is survived by her mother, Wendy Holden; brothers, Ronald Fillmer Jr, Joe Fillmer, Eric Fillmer, and Lane Russell, Jr; daughters, Wendy Fillmer (Joseph), Tara Ware (Heather), and Vanessa Street (Jason); grandchildren, Jackie, Jessie, Shelby, Ryann, Kya, Sophia, Lihyam, Austin, Landon, and Addyson; great-granddaughter, Kimber, and a very large number of beloved family members, including the remaining Fillmers from East Moline, Illinois.
Shannon will be so dearly missed.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.baldwinleepearl.com for the Ware family.
