Born in New Bedford, she was the youngest of the late Rosario and Dorilla (Page) Savaria’s four children. She graduated from Saint Anthony’s High School in New Bedford where she met her future husband Walter S. Dalton Jr. They married in 1955 and celebrated a 60th wedding anniversary before his passing in 2016. Simone worked as a dental assistant for many years before starting “Original’s by Simone”, a small framing and matting business. She was a member of the Cultural Council in Acushnet, the Greater New Bedford Garden Club, St. Mary’s bead making group, and St. Anthony’s Group at the COA in Acushnet. In addition to her community activities Simone enjoyed all things creative; playing the piano, composing music, photography, painting, and gardening to name a few.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Charlene Charbonneau and her husband Claude of Lawrence and Lynn Dalton-Huntoon and her husband Keith of Lakeville; two grandchildren Melissa Siopes and Kathleen Gravel and her husband Daniel; five great-grandchildren Hannah and Hunter Gravel, Noah, Colton, and Twyla Simone Siopes; a brother, Roland Savaria and his wife Noella; and several nieces and nephews. Simone was predeceased by her brothers Roger Savaria and his wife Theresa and Maurice Savaria and his wife Therese.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 10:00AM in St. Mary's Church, 440 Main St., Fairhaven, MA. 02719. Relatives and friends are invited.
